One of the archetypes of the metal element is ROYALTY. This might conjure images of crowns, purple velvet or kissing rings. And, sure, but, nowadays, a metal element person will present impeccably dressed, wearing classic, high end clothes and jewelry. But more importantly, a metal element person emits a certain royal air of AUTHORITY.
Nevermind their clothes. They could be in workout gear and it’s as though they’re wearing an energetic royal crown. There is no question they trust their divine right to take up space, to ask for what they want and to speak their truth. And they do so with grace, dignity and respect for others.
And guess what, metal element or not, we all have a divine right to embody graceful, SOVEREIGN royalty in our lives. BUT for some people this is harder to access.
When a person experiences a metal element imbalance (regardless of their personality type), they might have a hard time gracefully, embodying this royal authority. They may show up as the archetype of CINDERELLA – toil without rest, extreme asceticism, not allowing themselves to have or experience nice things (even when they make plenty of money and have plenty of vacation time banked). OR they might show up as the archetype of SPOILED PRINCESS – only the best, nothing is good enough, “Don’t you KNOW who I AM?” (even when they’re totally broke. Think: the Rose family in Schitt’s Creek).
And please let me clarify, the use of female-presenting archetypes doesn’t mean this only applies to the female-identified. There are Princesses and Cinderellas all along the gender spectrum.
