Can I stop giving in to my cravings this new year?

It’s a new year, so it means it’s that time of again. The time where we collectively gather our wills to resolve:  

To drink less, to weigh less, to scroll less…  

To exercise more, to save more, to sleep more… 

What are YOU resolving to do? 

What are some practical ways to handle cravings in the new year?

For many people, New Year’s resolutions center around food cravings, sugar cravings, emotional eating, drinking, and habits that feel nearly impossible to break. Instead of forcing change, it helps to create support.

People can help. So can accountability. There’s something genuinely helpful about “doing the thing” when everyone else is too: having a gym buddy, or agreeing as a household to turn off the TV and read a book instead. Shared momentum can be powerful.

Cravings aren’t a lack of discipline. They’re signals from your nervous system, hormones, digestion, stress levels, and emotional health. That’s why white-knuckling through January often leads to burnout by February.

So I also like to remind everyone about the spaciousness of waiting to resolve

Is the start of new year really the best time to try and kick my cravings?
