Each season we have an opportunity to work on specific physical, emotional and spiritual themes.
For instance, many of my patients are reporting dry skin, dry eyes, allergy symptoms, and miscellaneous sniffles. Autumn is the season of the respiratory system and the lungs.
Of course, the autumn, metal element emotion is grief. Autumn offers the opportunity to more deeply care for yourself around fresh or chronic grief, or just feeling more blue about the state of the world or the warmth and sun slipping away.
What about *The Spirit* of the metal element… What does it crave or struggle with?
The metal element is concerned with life’s deeper meaning and is supported by activities and perspectives that nurture awe and inspiration. Signs of metal element imbalance could include include existential frustration, over-identification with outward signs of success (clothes, home, bank account), having uncomfortably high standards for yourself or others, over-identification with spirituality, excessive asceticism or excessive religious strictness.
