Why do I have dry cough (or grief) in the autumn?

Why do I struggle with dry cough in the autumn?

In the office I am seeing an uptick in certain pulses that point to dryness affecting the lungs, as well as dry cough, dry skin as well as new patients coming in to deal with chronic respiratory conditions like asthma, allergies, long covid cough and COPD. (And yes. Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal medicine are making a difference.)

Chinese Medicine also offers solutions for dry cough and persistent grief

Every autumn, I also witness grief (the metal element emotion) coming back into focus. While it makes sense that fresh grief needs tending to, if grief is a persistent part of your life experience,  autumn is a time where grief might circle back around asking for more tenderness and care. Metal element personality types can also be more highly disposed to grief. It can be helpful to know this, and keep in mind, if grief is ever present in your life.

Self Care for dry cough, lung health and grief

Are you currently grappling with a metal element concern? Each elemental season brings forth a potential for exacerbated symptoms and emotions as well as a potential for healing them. In support of your lungs and the metal element, here is a qigong exercise that you may want to consider for supporting the lungs and grief:

Qigong is a moving meditation that involves 3 important ingredients:  Movement, breath and intention. This video shows the movement combined with the breath. The intention that you hold in this one may vary from breathing in healing energy for the purpose of stronger lungs or releasing old, heavy grief. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do.

Coming in for a tuneup is also helpful at times of seasonal shift. You can schedule that appointment opens in a new window ::HERE::

How can Feng Shui support my dry cough and grief?

In Feng Shui there are metal element sectors of the home that address themes including lung health, helpful people (mentors, colleagues, ideal clients, important referrals…), travel, children, creativity, joy and bringing projects to completion….  Grief can also be supported by Feng Shui and a deeper conversation about that grief would dictate what sectors of the home require support.

Could you use some help with or are you dealing with issues related to the metal element themes or grief? If so, you might want to explore the role of your home energetics.

What is Feng Shui?

Feng shui is a healing modality, with roots in Chinese indigenous spirituality, that diagnoses and rebalances disruption in the energy flow between a person’s home, life, relationships and health. It’s a practice that I have deeply benefited from. So I decided to dive deeper into the wisdom to become certified as a feng shui consultant so I could share this with others.

Affordable Feng Shui in the Bay

While I am working on website updates for my feng shui work, I am still excited to offer the service. That said, 100-minute, virtual feng shui consultations are currently available at a discounted price of $179 through November 2024.

The consultation includes a feng shui audit of your home (or business), based on your floor plan and recorded video tour, 5-element astrology review of you and the folx involved in your current situation, as well as remedies designed to correct the flow of qi into and through your home and life and in support of three goals or concerns.
