One of the themes of the fire element, whose season we’re currently in, is visibility. When you decide to step into the spotlight — an open mic night, a talk at a professional event — you’re drawing on the strength of your fire element to do it.
When I first started my professional life as an acupuncturist, I joined a networking group where I had to stand up every week and speak for thirty seconds about what I did and how I helped people.
I was terrified.
But with special care to nourish my fire element — through breath work and visualization — I moved through the fear, and eventually became a comfortable, even eager speaker.
Have you ever had a journey like mine?
Well, right on time with the season, I’m having my own moment in the spotlight. I’m honored to be nominated for “Best Acupuncturist” in the East Bay Express.
One of the beautiful things about this medicine is that it works — and every practitioner brings a unique expression of it to their patients. If you’ve found benefit in our work together and think others might too, I’d be so grateful if you’d take a moment to cast a vote.
Acupuncture is the first category under “Health & Beauty.” Voting closes 11:59 PM, Sunday, July 12.
